MOVEMENTS

Plt. Off. TR Prescott, Sgt CP Smith, Sgt CW Hancock and Sgt RJ Harris were reported missing from operational trip.

Plt. Off. AJ Lane posted to No 269 Squadron from No 1 OTU for flying duties.

Flt Lt HA Litvin posted to No 269 Squadron from No 6 OTU for flying duties.

 

WEATHER

Cloudy with continuous rain for most of day.  Vis. mainly 10-15 miles, wind light variable, becoming NNE'ly, 5-10 knots, then calm.

WEATHER

Fair becoming cloudy - periods of continuous rain or drizzle during evening.  Vis. over 12 miles, but 2-4 miles at times in precipitation.  Wind calm at first, becoming ENE'ly, light. veering WSW'ly, 10-16 knots about mid-day, becoming light variable at end of period.

OPERATIONAL FLYING

Two aircraft carried out escort to UR39, and two carried out searches 1 & 2.

One aircraft carried out strike and one escorted Force TM.

Cloudy with periods of rain throughout the day.  Cloud mainly 8 - 10/10 at 1000-2000 feet.  Vis. 12-20 miles, reduced in rain at times to 2-5 miles.  Wind NE'ly, 25 knots, gusty, moderating and becoming calm in the evening.

OPERATIONAL FLYING

Three aircraft carried out A/S sweep and two carried out Port Patrols 12 and 13.  One aircraft went on search , one escorted Force LA, and one flew to Stornaway from Kaldašarnes.

 

NON-OPERATIONAL FLYING

Nil

 

WEATHER

Cloudy with periods of rain or drizzle until evening.  Cloud mainly 8 - 10/10 at 1000-2000 feet early, lowering to 400-800 feet during afternoon.  Vis. over 10 miles during morning, improving later to over 12 miles.  Wind calm at first, becoming light E'ly or calm during morning, mainly SW'ly, 9-10 knots, becoming calm later.
